This training is designed for individuals who live, work, or frequently travel across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, giving you the knowledge needed to carry legally and confidently as you move between jurisdictions. Learn how to navigate the complex firearm laws that change as you cross state lines so you can travel throughout the region without unnecessary legal risk.

Our instructors are experienced professionals who regularly carry and train in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, providing practical insight into the laws, regulations, and real-world considerations for concealed carry in the DMV.

With convenient class locations throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, this course makes it easy to complete your training close to home.

By the end of the course, you will have the legal knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to responsibly carry a concealed firearm for personal protection throughout the DC Metropolitan Area.

PART-I:  In-Person Classroom (9:00am - 7:00pm)
Objectives:
- Firearm Safety & Storage
- Pistol Parts, Operation & Maintenance
- Basics of Pistol Shooting
- Concealed Carry Fundamentals
- Situational Awareness & Conflict Avoidance
- The Ethical Decision to Use Deadly Force 

PART-II:  Instructor-Led Virtual Classroom (9:00am - 1:00pm)
Objectives:
- Federal and State Laws on Firearms
- Responsibilities as a Permit Holder
- Permit Application Guidance

PART III: Live-Fire Range Training and Qualification
Objectives:
- Demonstrate competency and safety in handling a firearm
- Shooting qualification of fifty rounds of ammunition from a maximum distance of fifteen yards, and receiving a qualifying score of at least 70%

Students will receive a link after registering to schedule their range qualification at a convenient date and time. Range sessions are typically offered on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings following the class, as well as on the subsequent weekends, depending on availability.

Silver Eagle Group (SEG), Ashburn, VA
NRA Range, Fairfax, VA


Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive training completion certifications for:
1 – District of Columbia Concealed Carry Pistol License
2 – Maryland Wear and Carry Permit (+ HQL, if applicable)
3 – Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Prerequisite:  None

  • Class Supplies:

    • Pen and paper

  • Required Range Gear:

    • Pistol with at least one magazine (loaners available)

    • Hearing and eye protection

    • Range appropriate clothing

    • Ammunition: 50 rounds FMJ

For added convenience, certified fingerprint technicians will be on-site to provide both LiveScan and ink fingerprinting services, helping expedite your permit application process.

There will be NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of training.

Handguns are available to use for qualification if you do not own one. If you do have your own firearm, you are welcome (and encouraged) to bring it. 

Exact classroom location will be released to registered participants only.

Fingerprints and state application fees are not included in class price. 

You must be 21+ and legally able to possess a firearm with valid government photo ID to attend this course.
